What products do you use to reglaze?
We use a special epoxy glaze on all our jobs. This includes an etch to strip down the surface, bonding agent to help the epoxy grip to the surface, and a sprayable white epoxy glaze.
Do I need to leave my home during the reglazing process? Is epoxy toxic?
Epoxy is safe to use within your home. Although it can be toxic with frequent long exposure, our workers are equipped with special masks and are trained to properly use the sprayable epoxy. Epoxy does produce a strong paint smell, which can be bothersome to some individuals. Although leaving the premise is not required, some people prefer to leave when the epoxy is being sprayed. It usually takes a few hours for the smell to air out. We use an air ventilation system to speed up the process.
How long does the reglazing process take?
From start to finish, it usually takes between 1.5 - 3.5 hours, depending on the project. The epoxy then requires at least 24 hours to cure
How long does it last?
With proper care, the glaze can last from 5-10 years.
What are the special care instructions?
Allow the area to dry (cure) for at least 24 hours before use. The area needs to be completely dry during this period.
Use a mild soap and rag to clean the surface. Cleaning products should not have any harsh chemicals, such as bleach, as this could strip the surface. Do not use any abrasive sponges.
Bath mats should not be used on epoxy as water gets trapped underneath causing the epoxy to soften. Suction cups can remove the epoxy, also.
Leaking faucets need to be fixed quickly, as constant dripping can soften the epoxy and cause it to peel.
Do you offer any warranty?
Yes, we offer 5 year warranty.
